Hi Ogleby Family! Here is an opportunity to give back! Love is the answer!
A share about Blind Connect ~
BLIND DATE 2018 Since 2010 we’ve held an annual Blind Date where guests enjoy a special night out while dining blindfolded. “Attendees get to see what we don’t see,” said Jean Peyton, one of the founders of Blindconnect. “It’s really an eye-opener for everyone.” Blind Date is a "dining in the dark experience" where participants have dinner under sleep-shades in order to raise community awareness of blindness and money to support Blindconnect’s programs, including Angela's House.
A share about Dragon Kim Foundation ~
In August 2015, while we were sleeping in a campground in Yosemite, a massive tree branch fell on the tent in which our beloved son, Dragon Kim, and his dear friend, Justin Lee, were sleeping. Both boys died instantly – at the age of 14. Our hearts have been forever broken. We established The Dragon Kim Foundation in our son’s honor to carry on his love of life, to make it possible for other young people to pursue interests in areas in which Dragon himself was passionate, and to help give others the access to a bright future.
Dragon and a few friends had gathered not long ago to discuss how they could start something to provide music instruments and instruction to kids in our community. At his high school, the Orange County School of the Arts (OCSA), Dragon had initiated a project to provide music instruction as part of Camp OCSA, which provides free after-school arts instruction to the children of Santa Ana. The first project of The Dragon Kim Foundation has brought to life Dragon’s dream of helping kids learn and love music. Our other projects all support youth programs in academics, athletics, and the arts.
